What are Asian Lady Beetles?
Not a ladybug, even if they look like one. Orange to red with a variable number of spots and an “M” or “W” mark behind the head. They were brought in for aphids and now overwinter in houses.
Are they dangerous?
They bite. They stain. They smell. They are an allergen for some people. They do not eat wood.
What causes them?
They pile on the sunny side of a house in fall and crawl into siding gaps.
