What are Carpenter Bees?
Look like a bumblebee with a shiny black abdomen. They drill a perfect round hole in bare wood and nest in the gallery.
Are they dangerous?
Males hover and bluff. Females can sting. The wood damage and the woodpeckers that follow are the real problem.
What causes them?
Unpainted fascia, decks, and eaves.
Signs in the house

Load Bifen I/T or labeled aerosol on the nest. Alpine on the eave.
Per gallon Bifen I/T 1.0 fl oz per gallon as a nest drench when we can reach it. Aerosol knock-down first on active paper nests.
Ground yellowjackets get a dust in the hole at dusk. Do not broadcast the yard. TN charter 5908. Licensed applicators only. The label beats this card if they disagree.
