What are Deer Mice?
The other common mouse in Middle Tennessee. Two-tone: brown back, white belly and feet. Bigger eyes and ears than a house mouse.
Are they dangerous?
Hantavirus risk from dried droppings in sheds and cabins. Do not sweep a nest dry.
What causes them?
They nest in woodpiles, sheds, and seasonal cabins, then move in when it cools.
Signs in the house
Two-tone mice or nests in a shed or unused room.
