What are Gray Squirrels?

The gray tree squirrel of Middle Tennessee. Bushy tail, daytime runner. They chew a soffit or ridge vent and nest in insulation.

Are they dangerous?

They chew wiring and wood. Droppings in the attic. Not a disease emergency like a raccoon latrine, but the chew is real damage.

What causes them?

Trees touching the roof. Uncapped vents. Fall nesting and spring litters.

Signs in the house

Daytime scratch and roll in the attic. Chewed fascia. Leaves or pecans in insulation.
