What are Moles?

The eastern mole. Velvety gray, hidden eyes, huge digging paws. Ridges and volcano mounds in a wet lawn. They eat grubs and worms, not your plants — the tunnels do the damage.

Are they dangerous?

They do not bite people. The lawn looks wrecked. Ankle-twist ridges.

What causes them?

Soft wet soil and a grub crop. Spring and fall are peak.

Signs in the house

Surface ridges and fist-size mounds. No open hole like a vole runway.
