What are Mosquitoes?

Long legs, slim body, round head. Same order as flies. Females bite. They breed in standing water — gutters, toys, tires, ponds.

Are they dangerous?

Itch plus West Nile and other pathogens in this region. A yard you cannot use after 6 p.m. is the complaint we hear most.

What causes them?

Standing water and dense shrubs.
