What are Raccoons?

Gray-brown mask, ringed tail, dexterous front paws. Night workers. They den in attics, chimneys, and under decks when a kit is coming.

Are they dangerous?

Bite and scratch risk. Raccoon roundworm in droppings. They tear vents and insulation. Do not corner one in an attic.

What causes them?

Open vents, loose soffits, pet food, and trash. Spring and fall dens are the usual call.

Signs in the house

Heavy thump at night. Torn attic vent. Latrine on a roof or in insulation. Tracks like little hands.
