Rice Weevils

What are Rice Weevils?

Red-brown to black with four pale spots on the wings. The snout is about a third of the body. They fly. Larvae eat grain from the inside.

Are they dangerous?

They ruin rice, corn, wheat, and pasta. They do not transmit human disease.

What causes them?

Infested bags from the store or a bulk bin.

Signs in the house

Live weevils or hollow grains in rice and bird seed.

Bulk rice and corn.
