What are Springtails?

Tiny gray, white, or black jumpers. A forked tail flips them into the air. People mix them with fleas.

Are they dangerous?

They do not bite. They signal moisture — baths, overwatered soil, soggy mulch.

What causes them?

Standing damp. They explode in numbers after rain or a leak.

Tiny jumping specks on a wet windowsill or around a houseplant.
