Death Row Pest Control treats ants. Shield plans cover house ants. That is what Basic, Advance, and Premium are built around. Carpenter ants, crazy ants, and fire ants have limits in the service agreement. Fire ants are on Premium.
Ant extermination that follows the trail back
Most kitchen ants in Middle Tennessee are odorous house ants or little black ants nesting outside. Spray on the trail just splits the colony. Ant extermination here means non-repellent treatment at the foundation and entry points plus bait where they feed. Carpenter ants and fire ants have plan limits, which are covered on Shield plans.

What we treat on the membership
House ants, pavement-style trails at the slab, the usual sugar ants in a Spring Hill or Columbia kitchen. Interior + exterior insect treatment is on every Shield. Visit rhythm is every 3 months on Basic and Advance; Premium is every 2 months in spring/summer and every 3 months the rest of the year.

House ants vs fire ants
Kitchen and bathroom ants are on Shield. Fire ants in the yard are a Premium line (or a separate quote if you are not on Premium).
- Interior: non-repellent residual + bait at trails. Repellent store sprays scatter the colony and make the next stop harder.
- Exterior: foundation and entry points on the same visit.
- Fire ant mounds: treated as their own job when they are the complaint.

Ant control across Middle Tennessee
Ants are the most common pest in Spring Hill, Columbia, Santa Fe, and Franklin homes from spring through fall. Rain pushes them inside. New yards and fresh mulch give them nesting spots right against the foundation.
Common ants we treat
- Odorous house ants: small, dark, trailing on counters. They smell like rotten coconut when crushed.
- Pavement ants: push sand out of slab cracks and driveway joints.
- Carpenter ants: large and black, nesting in damp or damaged wood.
- Fire ants: mounds in lawns and fields. They sting.
Why store sprays make it worse
Repellent sprays kill the ants you see, and the colony splits and moves. You end up with two trails instead of one. Baits and non-repellent products let ants carry the treatment back to the nest.
Seasons
Spring brings ant swarms. Some of those winged insects are termites, not ants. Save one and text us a photo before you spray. Summer brings kitchen trails after storms. Fall slows things down, but ants nesting in walls can stay active inside.

Ant questions
Why do ants come back after I spray?
Store sprays kill the workers you see, but the queen and the nest stay. The colony splits and comes back in a new spot. Bait and non-repellent treatment reach the nest.
Are fire ants covered?
Yard fire ants are covered on Premium Shield. On Basic and Advance, fire ant mounds are quoted as their own job.
How long until they are gone?
You may see more ants for a few days as they walk through the treatment and carry bait home. Activity should drop after that. If ants keep coming back between visits, call us. Service calls are free on Advance and Premium and $49 on Basic.
