How we treat roaches
Same kit on a one-time stop or a Shield first visit: Alpine WSG (non-repellent), Tekko Pro IGR, gel bait, dust in voids. You may see more roaches for a day or two. That is them walking through the residual.
- Kitchen, baths, baseboards, appliance edges, and wall voids.
- Light exterior at doorways if that is where they are walking in.
- Heavy German-roach jobs sometimes need a follow-up. That is scheduled after we see the load.
Food-service kitchens stay on a written route with glue monitors and a resistance-break chemistry rotated on a clock so the population does not get comfortable with one product.

Middle Tennessee has two kinds of roach problems. German cockroaches live and breed indoors, usually in kitchens and bathrooms. They are small, tan, and fast, and they multiply quickly. Larger roaches, like American roaches and wood roaches, mostly live outside and wander in through doors, crawl spaces, and drains.
Which one do you have?
- Small, tan, in the kitchen during the day: likely German roaches. That points to a bigger population.
- Large and reddish-brown, near drains or the basement: often American roaches coming in from outside or sewer lines.
- Large, dark, one at a time near doors in summer: often wood roaches that wandered in. They do not usually breed indoors.
What helps
- Do not use foggers. They scatter roaches into walls.
- Fix leaks under sinks. Roaches need water.
- Clean behind the stove and fridge, and keep food sealed.
- Bring cardboard boxes in and out quickly. Roaches hide in them.

German roaches spread between units through shared walls and plumbing. We treat the unit we are hired for and tell you if neighbors need a look. Landlords can set up a schedule for buildings.
